For the Gulf Cooperation Council countries ‘common interests and underpinned by the UAE's and Sharjah's exemplary economic environment, in line with the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide UAE and other GCC countries’ nationals with job opportunities and good work environments, the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce (FGCCC) has collaborated with Sharjah Chamber to launch an award within the Sharjah Excellence Award entitled Sharjah Gulf Localization Award, which aims to stimulate and encourage the economic entities that most employ UAE and GCC nationals in the GCC countries.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of GCC Chambers at the 5th GCC Human Resources and Labor Market Conference, held at Expo Center Sharjah on 15-16 October 2017, which stipulated launching this Award.
To show the private sector’s role through members of Gulf Chambers in “localizing” as many Gulf establishments as possible
Highlighting by making this honoring part of the Gulf private sector’s social responsibility.
Creating a competitive environment by increasing the number of Gulf employees in establishments within the GCC common market’s agenda
Utilizing consultant’s expertise and services, including retirees, in the recruitment and localization process
